Bedava/ Free/ Gratuit, Orhan Veli - 5€ Donation to the Sameer Project (Gaza)

Free is a poem written by Turkish poet Orhan Veli in 1949. 

As expressed in this poem, salt water is indeed free but it’s not enough to let one live freely. Freedom has a heavy cost, more so for some than others. This is why, all proceeds from the sales of this poem will go to The Sameer Project which works to supply clean water, food, tents and medical care to the people of Gaza. The donations will be split into two between the South and North campaigns.

Gratuit est un poème composé par le poète turc Orhan Veli en 1949. Comme exprimé dans ce poème, l’eau salée est gratuite, libre d’accès, mais elle ne garantit pas la liberté. Celle-ci a un prix, plus élevé pour certain.e.s que d’autres. C’est pourquoi les gains obtenus de la vente de ce poème iront à The Sameer project. Cette organisation oeuvre à procurer eau propre, nourriture, tentes et aide médicale à la population de Gaza. Les dons seront divisés en deux entre l’opération nord et sud.

Orhan Veli’nin 1949’da yazdığı gibi su bedava, evet, fakat hür bir şekilde yaşamaya yetmiyor. Özgürlük bedava değil, pahası bazıları için daha ağır. Bu yüzden, bu şiirin satışlarından elde edilden gelir Gazze halkına temizsu, yiyecek, çadır ve tıbbi yardım ulaştırmak için çalışan The Sameer Project’e bağışlanacaktır. Bağışlar Kuzey ve Güney Gazze’de yürütülen iki farklı operasyon arasında bölüştürülecektir.
